Pipeline Repair

Subsea leak detection is an integral part of offshore pipeline repair work. It is used during commissioning of new pipeline installations in the event of a hydrostatic test failure or during routine offshore surveys of operational pipelines prior to conducting subsea pipeline repair work.

Various leak detection methods are used to locate leakage points along the pipeline and associated control systems, manifolds, templates, etc., so that the pipeline contractor can conduct pipeline repair work efficiently. Once pipeline repairs have been completed then the leak detection system can be re-deployed to check that the repairs are successful.
